This lively coffee features aromas of milk chocolate, fresh apricot, and black raspberry. Notes of persimmon and grapefruit zest in the brewed cup accompany red grape acidity and a delightfully creamy body. Spiced and herbal notes of sandalwood, cinnamon, and sage emerge in the finish.

The Thunguri Coffee Factory is a small operation run by Simon Mathenge and a true testament to the greatness of Kenyan coffees. Many small lot farmers in the region grow SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11 at nearly 5400 feet and bring their harvest to the Thunguri Coffee Factory to be washed and sun dried on raised beds.
The processing facility is located near the town of Karatina in Kirinyaga District, which lies just south of Mount Kenya. Established in 1987, the factory serves as the central processing station for farmers in Gathundie, Gathiruini, Thunguri, and Kaguyuu Villages. Roughly 800 active small lot farmers use the facility.
