A distinct aromas of cherry, nutmeg, and bergamot promise to the balance of this cup. Complex notes of blackberry, vanilla bean, honeydew, and quince complement rainier cherry tones and lemon drop acidity. The finish shines with herbal tones of rosemary, tart rhubarb, and sauvignon blanc.

Available whole bean in an 8 oz Blue Label tube, 8 oz pouch, or 4 oz pouch. This coffee roasts and ships on Tuesdays only—you must order by 4PM CT Monday to be included in Tuesday's roast.

The Story

The Herrera brothers at Café Granja La Esperanza have earned accolades from the SCAA, Roasters Guild, and Coffee Review for meticulous processing and a willingness to experiment with rare varieties like Sudan Rume and Mokka, which have become very popular among our customers. We're very excited to offer this gesha from the Cerro Azul farm, which presents another stunning flavor profile from our long-term Direct Trade partner.

The long fermentation of this lot with the cherries intact gives it an exceptionally rich flavor profile with incredible complexity.

Production Notes from Granja La Esperanza

Fermentation: Manual and rigorous picking. Between 48 and 50 hours of fermentation in cherries with controlled temperature.

Drying: After fermentation, the coffee is left for hours in the silo and then is moved to solar drying for 28 days. Afterwards, it is stored for 3 months to help stabilize it and reduce the astringency of freshness.
