The Story
Roberto Brenes has produced wonderful coffees that have quickly gained renown throughout the coffee world. His small farm is located at about 5,200 feet (1600 meters) in Candela - Volcán, near Boquéte, with prime conditions for growing the Gesha variety.
The prized Camilina lot, named after Sr. Brenes’ granddaughter, goes through the natural process on the farm. Ripe cherries are harvested and carried by hand to raised drying beds, where they ferment under strict supervision for up to 30 days. This careful process produces a stronger body and more fruit tones than typical Geshas, while keeping the signature floral, tea-like aroma.
