Luscious aromas of caramel, cherry blossom, and Concord grape introduce this silky coffee. Notes of caramel and a touch of rose accompany orange acidity in the cup, resolving into a finish of cocoa powder and pomelo.

This lot was produced by two smallholders in Imbabura Province, among the Andes of northern Ecuador. Mario Andres Andrade Morales grows Caturra and Bourbon on seven hectares at Finca Habitat Forest, while Jose Martin Obando Lopez grows Caturra on two hectares.
Mario's grandfather produced coffee for his own consumption and to share with his farm workers before beginning to sell small volumes to roasters in Ecuador. This proved to be profitable, so the farm began to invest more time and money in their coffee trees. Just a few years ago, a roaster in Quito recognized the high quality of Mario's coffee and paid accordingly; since then, Mario has focused on producing for the specialty coffee market.
We love the subtle complexity of this coffee, with silky caramel giving way to citrus and floral tones as the cup cools.
