The inaugural Flatlanders Barista Cup begins on Friday night.  Over the next few days, producers and baristas alike will converge in Topeka, Kansas to celebrate coffee and competition. Below is a detailed Schedule of Events for this weekend

Friday – October 26th

6pm (Cafe) – Competitor Check-In

7pm – Guest Baristas 2011 World Barista Champion Alejandro Mendez and 2011 WBC Runner-Up Pete Licata (Open to the Public)

 Saturday – October 27th

Open to the Public All Day

 9am (PT’s Coffee Roasting Co.) – Competitor Check-In

9:45am – Introductions

10:00am – Federico Bolanos and Alejandro Mendez Presentation

11:15am – Lucia de Ortiz – Finca Las Mercedes Presentation

12:15pm – Lunch (Food Truck – Beer Rocks)

1:00pm – Sergio Ticas – Finca Los Planes Presentation

2:15pm – Juan Diego de la Cerda – Finca el Socorro Presentation

3:15pm – 4:15pm – Public Open House of PT’s Coffee Roasting Co.

 7pm (Cafe) – Saturday Night Live Latte Art Throwdown

Sunday – October 28th

8am – 3pm (PT’s Coffee Roasting Co.) – Flatlanders Barista Cup Competition
